President's Message

Greetings and welcome to the Greater Houston Alcorn Alumni Chapter’s website. I am delighted to serve as the 2021 – 2022 President of our distinguished and hardworking chapter.

I am committed to giving back to my beloved Alcorn State University in time, talent, and treasure. It is said, “A man’s character is his fate.” I can attest to the fact that Alcorn was extremely instrumental in developing not only my character, but also the character of the multitudes who have attended and graduated from our institution. Most of us entered Alcorn as naive young adults and left with a greater appreciation for life and humanity with a goal of making a difference. It is my goal during my tenure as chapter president to give back. I ran for this position on the platform of Giving Alcorn my B.E.S.T. The acronym B.E.S.T. stands for Brand awareness, Enrollment, Scholarship, and Teamwork.
As chapter president, I commit to implementing programs and initiatives to promote Alcorn State University throughout Greater Houston. It is my goal to ensure the Alcorn brand is well represented and respected. As a chapter, we are hard at work actively communicating and collaborating with the University to increase enrollment and send scholarship dollars to support Alcorn students. Without a doubt, there is a lot of work to be done.

To my fellow Alcornites in the Greater Houston area, I invite you to join us and become an active member of your Greater Houston Alcorn Alumni Chapter. We are a family; we are a strong team. We desire to be even stronger with you by our side. Remember, Teamwork…makes the dreamwork.

I am grateful to my Greater Houston Alcorn Alumni Chapter family for trusting and supporting me as we do the heavy lifting together to move our chapter forward. Together we will make a difference. Together we will make history.
